In search of more efficiency to achieve major productive parameters in the sector, the governmental delegation visited the Carlos Manuel de Cespedes sugar mill.
After meeting with workers and operators of the largest power plant in the province, Tapia insisted on seeking alternatives in view of the effects of the United States economic, commercial and financial blockade.
Adelante newspaper reported on its website that the objective is to produce more than 33,600 tons of sugar, using raw materials from that territory and crops from the Brasil sugar factory.
The plans are to “contribute to the national power system and supply other sugarcane byproducts to the local agricultural sector.”
Tapia also met with business people linked to the sector, and expressed interest in the production of food in general in the province, with the largest contribution in milk.
