Cuba sets virtual Covid-19 vaccination certificate

Havana, Feb 10 (Prensa Latina) Cuba is currently setting a virtual Covid-19 vaccination certificate that confirms the immunization process of each Cuban citizen and can be carried on their mobile phones, official sources reported Thursday.

During regular meeting of the Temporary Working Group to fight the Covid-19 pandemic, Cuba´s Public Health Minister José Ángel Portal Miranda said the digital vaccination certificate will be launched and available from coming Monday, February 14.

According to the Presidency’s official website, it is a test service during its initial stage where users can find more details on the official websites of the Public Health Ministry (MINSAP, in Spanish).

Digitalizing the immunization process has already covered about 80% of the fully vaccinated population, so Cubans will be able to download the certificate to their cell phones or even print them.

Mr. Portal Miranda also stated that those people who cannot access their virtual vaccination certificate -because it is not yet ready due to some delays nationwide- should go to their corresponding Policlinic or Community Doctor´s Office-Home to request its digitization.

According to official data, more than 88% of Cubans (9,839,682) have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
