Sources from the regional organization say that Cuban legislator Rolando Gonzalez, secretary of commissions of the Parlatino’s Board of Directors, played a leading role in the systematic functioning of these structures, whose highest authorities for 2022-2024 will be elected on Friday at the 36th Ordinary Assembly of the legislature.
Another work team that stood out in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic was that of Health, whose head is Congressman Luis Velazquez, from Cuba’s National Assembly (parliament) and also president of the Cuban Academy of Sciences, who presented a report on his work in a video-conference, they added.
The sources also highlighted the approval of macro laws and statements that mostly focused on the world health emergency adopted in other commissions such as Education, Science, Technology and Communication, whose first vice-president is Cuban parliamentarian Michel Charbonet; and gender equity, which is also integrated by Arelis Santana, also a Cuban parliamentarian.
