The president made this observation at a meeting at the Palace of the Revolution in Havana, where he met with members of the network of Offices of the Historian and Curator of Cuba’s Heritage Cities.
Diaz-Canel acknowledged the decades-long work by those experts to preserve and promote the national heritage and said that the work of the Network of Heritage Cities leaves a legacy for everything that we want to achieve regarding the preservation of Cuba’s historic and heritage memory.
The head of State also referred to the need to train municipal governments so that they can have a qualified workforce that develops and leads the work locally and train mayors and presidents of municipal assemblies on these issues.
Diaz-Canel, who is also first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), noted that we aspire to achieve prosperity that ranges from food to recreation, including scientific development, a superior spiritual wealth and welfare that empowers design from a functional point of view with beauty.
For his part, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz insisted that the Offices of the Historian and Curator of Heritage Cities are responsible for the everyday monitoring of violations that transform and affect the surroundings of towns.
