Covid-19 cases and deaths decrease in Mexico

Mexico, Feb 14 (Prensa Latina) The epidemiological week in Mexico began today with a 48 percent decrease in the number of Covid-19 cases, with which the pandemic curve continues to decline rapidly, informed the Ministry of Health.

According to the daily technical report, in the past 24 hours, 8,854 cases and 122 deaths were confirmed, bringing the official record to 5,292,706 people who have been infected and 312,819 who died.

The estimated active cases for today are 107,652, equivalent to 1.9 percent of the total number of people who have had Covid-19 in the country.

Meanwhile, he adds, hospital occupancy continues to fall in general beds, with minus three percentage points and minus one in those with ventilators. The former stood at 30 percent and those for critical patients at 23 percent.

Yesterday, 434,541 vaccines against the SARS-CoV-2 virus were applied, which brings to 84 million 97,727 people with at least one dose, 94 percent of whom have the complete vaccination plan.

Most active cases concentrated in the states of Colima, Baja California Sur, Mexico City, Tlaxcala, Nayarit, Aguascalientes, Querétaro, Campeche, Hidalgo and Sonora.
