The Iranian diplomatic representation in Kabul noted in a series of Twitter posts that batches were delivered to people in need in the provinces of Herat, Balkh, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Kabul, Badakhshan, Kunduz and Panjshir, The Khaama Press news agency stated.

Iran sent to Afghanistan planes loaded with medicine, blankets, food and warm clothes, Pajhwok news agency noted.

Iran’s humanitarian aid comes a day after Australia announced that its people have collected one million dollars to the Red Cross for aid to the people of Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, the source added, a delegation from Afghanistan’s Taliban Government will leave Kabul for London to discuss humanitarian issues along with other relevant matters.

Afghanistan is facing a profound humanitarian crisis that affects several million people, following the US military occupation that cost the US taxpayer more than two trillion dollars, according to the Brown University.
