Deputy Health Minister Waldemar Kraska claimed experts are currently studying these new strains and warned the disease “will not disappear from daily life quickly.”

I think that certain habits including social distancing, disinfection and mask coverings should stay with us, maybe not forever, but for a longer period of time, Mr. Kraska told the press.

96% of active Covid-19 cases here got infected with the Omicron variant, according to official figures.

Since the start of the pandemic in Poland, over 5.4 million infections have been reported. The country´s death toll surpassed 108,000.
