Rubén Ramos, vice president of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, told Prensa Latina it will be a unique opportunity for the regional countries, and particularly the United Arab Emirates, to learn first-hand about Cuban development in those sectors.
Abu Dhabi Emirates, Dubai and Sarja government and trade authorities, some 14 country pavilions at the event, 28 Cuban companies and about 35 foreign companies from the biotechnology and health sectors confirmed their attendance.
The event, organized by the Cuban Chamber along with the Minstry of Foreign Trade and Investment (Mincex, in Spanish) will operate in a panel format and Dubai commercial authorities will moderate it.
Mincex´s minister Rodrigo Malmierca will comment on details of the Foreign Investment Law, incentives for foreign trade and Cuba´s exportable offers, with more than 350 products including goods and services.
Moreover, the event will present the investment portfolio approved during the business forum that took place in Havana last December, including 678 projects for more than 12 billion dollars in sectors such as biotechnology, health, renewable energies, food production and tourism.
The event will be broadcast live on the website of Cuban pavilion at the fair and will be followed up in business rounds until Febraury 18.
