On his Twitter account, the head of State thanked Yutong for this solidarity gesture, which is an expression of the willingness to continue strengthening ties between the Chinese firm and Cuba.

On Monday, Deputy Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Minister Deborah Rivas stressed that Cuba considers Yutong a very important strategic partner.

During the official reception of the donation, Rivas noted that this company has been a close and helpful friend during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The donation is a contribution to alleviate the effects of the tightened United States economic blockade and will go to social consumption (hospitals, nursing homes) and the population, she said.

For his part, Yutong’s representative in Cuba Yang Tengfei pointed out at the ceremony that this gesture is a true expression of the deep relations forged with the Cuban people for the past few years.

He added that the company will continue assessing long-term strategic cooperation in the future and will contribute to the development of Cuban society, as it has been doing so far.
