Cuba continues increasing Covid-19 vaccination rates

Havana, Feb 16 (Prensa Latina) A total of 34,754,239 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered in Cuba to date, the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reported on Wednesday.

According to MINSAP, 10,592,857 citizens have received at least one dose of the home-grown vaccines, while 9,362,784 have already administered a second dose and 9,038,896 a third dose.

A total of 9,860,083 Cubans have received the complete vaccination scheme against Covid-19, accounting for 89.0 percent of the country’s population, the source stated.

Cuba is currently accelerating the administration of Covid-19 booster doses, which will not only increase the number of memory cells, but with higher quality, and thus developing antibodies with better neutralizing capacity.

The Cuban vaccines are safe and without serious side effects, this strategy will be staggered and its aim is to achieve greater protection against new Covid-19 variants.
