The day before, the president received a delegation of that political group headed by its president, Heinz Bierbaum, and also integrated by its first vice-president, Spanish politician Maite Mola, and other leaders.
Yesterday I received the PIE delegation that is visiting Cuba these days. I thanked them for their solidarity in the midst of so many hostile campaigns waged against the Revolution, Diaz-Canel wrote in a message on his Twitter account.
During the meeting, which took place at the Palace of the Revolution, the Cuban President thanked the permanent support in the fight against the U.S. blockade, the support to the Cuban medical missions in Europe and the vaccination campaign with donations, as well as the development of information campaigns to spread news of what is really happening in Cuba.
Bierbaum pointed out that there is a lot of false information about Cuba and it is very important to spread the reality.
The PIE delegation arrived in Cuba on the 12th of this month and will remain until the 19th with a program of activities that includes visits to centers of economic, scientific and social interest in the provinces of Pinar del Río and Havana.
The PIE is a political organization at European level, which was created in 2004 and is made up of more than 30 political parties of that continent, which advocate peace, the defense of human rights and solidarity.
