Cuba reports 733 new Covid-19 cases and five deaths

Havana, Feb 17 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) on Thursday reported that in the last 24 hours, 733 people were detected with Covid-19 and five patients died from complications due to the disease.

The Molecular Biology Labs nationwide tested 14,806 samples to detect the presence of the SARS-Cov-2 coronavirus.

Of all 3,521 active cases in the country, 4,484 have a stable clinical evolution and 37 patients remain in intensive care units, including 17 in a critical condition and 20 reported as seriously ill.

The Minsap noted that 924 patients were clinically discharged during the day, so the total number of recovered cases rose to 1,051,419.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic in Cuba in March 2020, 1,063,481 cases have been reported and the death toll is 8,482.
