Israel’s economy grows 8.1 percent in 2021

Tel Aviv, Feb 17 (Prensa Latina) Israel's economy grew by 8.1 percent in 2021, after a contraction of 2.2 percent in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Central Bureau of Statistics reported on Thursday.

The growth figure exceeded the Bank of Israel’s forecast of 7.5 percent.

According to the entity, the Gross Domestic Product increased 16.6 percent in the fourth quarter, after a growth of 2.4 percent in the third quarter.

Imports of goods and services rose 18.7 percent last year after falling 9.5 percent in 2020.
