Abdollahian told the UN incumbent about the Persian country’s significant steps in the talks taking place in Vienna, the Austrian capital, to renew the vows of the 2015 nuclear deal.
“The progress in the negotiation process is significant, but the other side still has to make serious political decisions,” he stressed.
He also remarked as fundamental the review of “some key issues to guarantee Iran’s legitimate rights and interests and to show its practical will.”
During the meeting, on the sidelines of the 58th Munich Security Conference, both sides reviewed other regional issues such as the current situation in Yemen and Afghanistan.
The Iranian diplomatic representative, “emphasized the important role of the UN Secretary General in resolving the crisis in Yemen and putting an end to aggression and war in this country”.
Referring to the situation in Afghanistan, he emphasized the continuation of humanitarian aid to the Afghans and considered very important and very effective the issue of forming an inclusive government and the participation of all political groups in Afghanistan in solving the problems of that country.
