The Cuban Academy of Sciences (ACC, in Spanish) accompanies national economic development and promotes innovation as a strategic society´s cornerstone.
It was the first founded in the American continent, nowadays has a group of more than 400 personalities linked to different branches of science such as biomedicine, agriculture, technology, fishing, among other areas.
According to historical data, originally conceived as the Royal Academy of Medical, Physical and Natural Sciences of Havana, the agency works in strategic alliance with scientific research centers and universities in the country.
ACC´s work is also linked to other similar societies around the world such as the Royal Society of Edimburgh, in Scotland, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the Royal Society of London.
