During the meeting, the Cuban Foreign Minister pointed out his country’s willingness to promote talks, cooperation and agreement with ACS country members, while highlighting the significance of Mr. Sabonge´s first official visit to Cuba.

Mr. Sabonge, on the other hand, praised Cuba’s contribution to ACS, in a context marked by the Covid-19 pandemic and the danger climate change represents for the region.

The ACS Secretary-General said the region´s major challenge is to fight climate change, and in this regard, he highlighted how Cuba leads efforts at both domestic and international levels.

Plus, he laid stress on how important will be counting on Cuba for post-pandemic recovery and the accomplishment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
