“No, so far there are no concrete plans on that account,” the Russian official replied when he asked about statements from the Elysee Palace about the acceptance by both presidents to hold a meeting, at the proposal of French President Emmanuel Macron.

According to Peskov, there is an understanding that there will be contacts at the level of heads of diplomacy.

In this sense, he added that it is possible that a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken occur this week.

Macron had two phone conversations with Vladimir Putin on Sunday and according to reporters, he also held talks with US President Joe Biden, Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky, German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
