President of that group, Nikos Karandreas, painter Takis Varelas and physician Eleni Papagiorgiou delivered speeches in which they condemned the US genocidal economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.
They also highlighted the history of struggle and resistance of the Cuban people, the development of medicine and science in that nation, and the fight against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19, using homegrown vaccines, among other topics.
Cuban Ambassador Zelmys Dominguez thanked the solidarity shown in this activity, which was attended by representatives of the Communist Party of Greece and other political forces, as well as members of the Cuban embassy.
During the meeting, the documentary “The Strength of a Country,” about the Cuban vaccines, subtitled in Greek, was screened.
The Greek Committee for the Nobel Prize for Cuban Doctors also held an event where the coordinator of that organization, Velissarios Kosivakis, highlighted the fight of Cuban health authorities against the Covid-19 pandemic.
At the event, which was attended by Ambassador Zelmys Dominguez and other members of the Cuban embassy, Kosivakis also condemned, on behalf of his organization, the US blockade against Cuba.
