At the beginning of the official talks with his Syrian counterpart, Faisal Mekdad, the foreign minister pointed out that the situation in the world is developing very quickly, which includes North Africa, the issues in the Middle East and the Syrian agreement.

He considered it unfortunate that Moscow’s efforts to apply resolution 2254 of the United Nations Security Council “are influenced by the atmosphere that is being promoted by our Western colleagues, who are trying to create [a confrontation] between Russia and NATO.”

For his part, the Syrian minister pointed out that with its campaign of lies and distortions, the West is propitiating Ukraine’s aggression against Russia, and stated that it is the same campaign that they deployed against Syria.

Mekdad denounced that while the West insists that Moscow is to blame for everything even when it encourages Ukraine in its aggression against Russia, supplying it with modern weapons and building military bases on its territory and violating the signed international agreements.
