The number of patients admitted is 8,740, including 5,703 suspected cases, 68 under epidemiological surveillance and 2,969 confirmed active cases, according to the daily report released by the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap).
Of the total number of cases on Monday, 554 were contacts of confirmed cases, eight were infected abroad and in five cases the source of contagion could not be determined.
Authorities discharged 629 patients, so 1,054,895 people (98.9 percent of all confirmed cases) have been cured.
In addition, 2,969 patients have been admitted at hospitals or at home, 2,938 with stable clinical evolution, while 31 are being treated at intensive care units, including eight in a critical state and 23 who are serious ill.
Cuba has accumulated 1,066,414 Covid-19 patients since March 11, 2020, and the death toll as a result of the pandemic is 8,491.
