Lula claims Bolsonaro’s government is destructive

Brasilia, Feb 22 (Prensa Latina) Former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva claimed on Tuesday that President Jair Bolsonaro's authoritarianism ends with everything in the country and his government is one of destruction and fake news.

Lula expressed on his Twitter account that Bolsonaro imposes things without respect for democratic behavior, and criticized that the top officials at the Ministry of Education think that university should be for a few, a mentality that, he affirmed, holds Brazil back.

The presidential pre-candidate from the Workers’ Party (PT) in the October elections said that for centuries the elite treated the country as a nation of slaves and their children studied in Europe, but Brazil only had a university in the 20th century.

He stated that he values technical education and universities because he knows what a technical career means to a worker, since having a profession improves people’s lives.

In a tweet, Lula also made it clear that the PT is against the privatization of Electrobras, because there is no need to sell an asset built by the Brazilian people, which regulates the electricity system and can prevent abusive prices in energy bills.

Regarding economics, he considered that there is no technical or political-economic reason for Petroleo Brasileiro (Petrobras) to make the decision to internationalize the price of fuel, other than to serve the interests of shareholders, especially those who remain in New York.

The price of fuel is expensive in the tank, Lula emphasized, but also in the market because it impacts the price of food and the dollarized cost of fuel concentrates wealth in the hands of the richest and takes resources away from the poorest, he expressed.
