During the ceremony at the Zero+Infinity Building of the University of Buenos Aires, the President reiterated that today’s rich societies are not measured by the amount of gold or oil they possess, but by what they know.
There is no money better invested, with society in mind, than in education, science and technology, he said.
After stressing that Argentina suffers from enormous inequality, he emphasized that, in these times, investment is related to science and technology and highlighted that hundreds of scientists in the country have worked side by side to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
In another moment of his speech, the president insisted once again on building a true federal nation by pointing out that the objective of his government is that whoever is born anywhere in Argentina can live happily, prosper, study, find a job and have the necessary possibilities to achieve his or her goals.
We are survivors of the pandemic and therefore we have the moral duty to guarantee equal rights for all genders, build a fairer society, put an end to inequalities, promote science, technology and industry, he said.
We will do it because we are a society with an enormous capacity for resilience. We will rise again to build a fairer country, he concluded.
