The work that began on Monday, with a visit to the municipality of Trinidad, will be completed on Wednesday.

The supervision commissions in the eight municipalities discussed the study and implementation of the guiding documents of the Civil Defense and economic planning for the reduction of disaster risks.

Major General Ramon Pardo Guerra, head of that institution, urged local authorities to guarantee that every micro, small and medium enterprise has a Disaster Risk Reduction Plan.

He also called to include new economic stockholders in the plan to respond better to threats.

At the meetings with directors and workers of state and private institutions and cooperatives, Major General Pardo Guerra, who is also a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), spoke about the importance of having an adequate risk reduction plan to respond better to threats.

At a previous meeting with top authorities of this province, he said that the Cuban Civil Defense System is the only one in the world that has been recognized by the United Nations as an international reference.
