The Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Education devised new protocols in favor of a more stable onsite attendance at schools, after recognizing damages to the teaching process and children’s learning.

According to a study spread by the University of the Republic, the closure of schools during the pandemic affected the cognitive and motor skills of preschool children.

Expert Alejandro Vazquez said that early performance in reading and mathematics are strong indicators of academic achievements at elementary school and could be the most difficult to deal with at home as they require experienced learning.

Meanwhile, the National Emergency System on Wednesday reported 4,418 new Covid-19 cases and 10 deaths from this disease.

The number of active cases dropped to 34,666 again, and the number of patients in intensive care units fell to 141.

Scientists involved seek to complement clinical data and more efficiently guide medical decision-making, the diagnose and prevention of diseases and boost initiatives, research and joint development projects.
