Minister of Defense Jaroslav Nad confirmed the arrival of troops from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in the next few hours, although he ruled out the existence of threats to national integrity.
These actions are in response to Russia’s recognition of the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and the sending of troops later to the Donbass to guarantee the integrity of these border territories, the Kremlin reported.
Such a decision provoked reactions from the EU, which almost unanimously aligned itself with the Western discourse and announced an escalation of sanctions against Moscow.
