Unlike other Central American nations, which have already spoken out either in favor or against the outcome, El Salvador continues without making official statements on the operation launched by Moscow at the request of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

Only President Nayib Bukele threw dards on Twitter against his US counterpart, Joe Biden, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, questioning their genuine commitment to democracy.

Russia on Thursday launched a military operation in Ukraine’s autonomous Donbass region after authorities in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics requested help to repel Kiev’s aggression.

In an address to the nation, President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia will seek to protect the population of Donbass, “demilitarize” Ukraine and prevent the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) from a further rapprochement.
