On his Twitter account, the Cuban president wrote, “Our visit to #Guantanamo, land of noble and hardworking people, has been very profitable. Thank you for the love and confidence that we will move forward.”
He also tweeted, “Together we can overcome difficulties. We have the capabilities and the strength to do so.”
For its part, the Twitter profile of the Presidency highlighted that the working team visited 470 places of economic and social interest in all ten municipalities of the province.
The official source stressed that 51 indications had resulted from these visits, 39 of which have been already fulfilled.
During his stay in this territory, more than 930 kilometers east of Havana, Diaz-Canel participated in one of the popular consultatons on the draft Family Code in the Caribe community, where he spoke with neighbors about the inclusive and humane nature of that legal instrument.
The president also talked with professors and students from the University of Guantanamo where, according to local radio, he acknowledged the proficiency of its teachers, which is reflected in the professional training of students, who will be the ones who will contribute to the economic and social development of Cuba’s easternmost province.
