The final conclusions revealed, besides, that the government relied too much on the Public Health Agency, to which it granted a lot of power.

The commission´s two previous reports exposed aspects such as a “slow and deficient” government´s manegement and the failure of the system implemented for the protection against the disease in retirement homes.

Among the Nordic countries, Sweden is the most affected one by Covid-19 and at the beginning of the pandemic it opted for many recommendations and few restrictions, according to analysts.

This nation registered then, one of the world´s highest death tolls from the disease mainly due to the death of the elderly, although this indicator has decreased and nowadays is among the lowest in Europe, according to healthcare authorites.

With a population of nearly 10,4 million inhabitants, more than one fifth were infected with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes the ailment.

The death toll here related to Covid-19 amounts to 17,142, with a mortality rate of 166,09 per 100,000 inhabitants.
