Speaking to the media, the senior official stressed that the militarization of Ukraine, in the long term, could have much more dangerous consequences.

Peskov said such shipments once again confirm “that Russia is right in the steps being taken to demilitarize the country which, in his opinion, is prone to its quite aggressive and often criminal aspirations, as it was in the cases of the self-proclaimed Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics.”

He added that the European Union’s plans to continue supplying Ukraine with weapons show that its position towards Russia is unfriendly, it takes aggressive and hostile measures against Moscow.

Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24, after the authorities of the self-proclaimed Donetsk (DPR) and Lugansk (LPR) people’s republics asked for help to repel Kiev’s aggression.
