Gulevich, also deputy minister of Defense, told the press after a meeting of the Security Council of Belarus, that the priority is to protect the border and the country’s territorial integrity.
He reiterated that there are no Belarusian soldiers in Ukraine and they are only performing tasks for the intended purposes in the national territory.
He assured that national authorities have continued reinforcing the state border, deploying additional forces and means that guarantee the country’s military security in the south, north west and west.
Gulevich explained that the situation in Belarus remains difficult, referring to the statements by the secretary general of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Jens Stoltenberg, who said that the alliance’s response forces will be set on high alert.
