CARICOM heads of Government meeting begins in Belize

Belmopan, Mar 1 (Prensa Latina) The meeting of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday in San Pedro, Belize, to discuss on economic recovery and other issues of regional importance.

The conclave addresses advancing in the implementation of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy and discusses the political situation in member State Haiti, as well as the socioeconomic and security challenges of this country and the region in general.

The agenda includes analysis of Agri-Food systems and recommendations for nutritional security.

According to CARICOM’s official website, the opening session is streaming live on the Caribbean organization’s YouTube channel.

On Thursday, participants will join the Fourth CARICOM and Central American Integration System (SICA) Summit, which will be also held in San Pedro, Belize.

It was announced that United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will address the floor and a conclusive document to be called the Declaration of San Pedro will be signed.
