The event’s debates focus on pressing issues such as the repercussions of European military conflicts on Cuba during the first half of the 20th century, which allow understanding continuities and ruptures in the transit of ideas and people from Europe and Cuba.
Perla Rosales, deputy general director of the Office of the Historian of the City of Havana, confirmed the Colloquium after being postponed for two years due to Covid-19, and evoked the memory of Dr. Eusebio Leal, the main creator of the meeting and a strong defender of historic relations between Cuba and Europe.
This is the first edition without the physical presence of the senior historian, to whom the event is dedicated, said Rosales at the opening session of the event, which consists of master classes and lectures by prestigious researchers from Cuba and other parts of the world.
Until March 4, the event aims to consolidate the European presence in Cuba and it is part of the cultural program of the Office of the Historian of Havana.
