On its official Twitter account, the Foreign Ministry congratulated the people and government of this southeastern European country on occasion of Liberation Day.

After centuries of Ottoman domination, on March 3, 1878, San Stefano city hosted the signing of the Peace Treaty that ended the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878 and freed Bulgarian territories.

This country celebrates Liberation Day every year to honor that day.

In February, Havana and Sofia signed an agreement to resume bilateral exchange between universities.
