Lawmakers assess government programs in Cuban province

Havana, Mar 3 (Prensa Latina) Representatives of the working commissions of Cuba's National People's Power Assembly will assess as of Thursday the impact of government programs in western Artemisa province.

A press release from the Parliament said that the parliamentarians will meet until March 5 to review until the compliance with the measures to prevent and fight Covid-19.

During the tour, they will also check the agreements adopted by the Cuban legislature for this territory, located about 50 kilometers west of Havana, as well as the implementation of the Territorial Development Strategy at the municipal level.

The attention to the proposals from the population, the strengthening of the link between delegates and voters and popular control will also be some of the issues to be reviewed during the visit.

As part of the agenda, meetings are planned with the population in neighborhoods and communities, and with workers from several sectors.

Artemisa was established as a province more than a decade ago as part of an experiment to improve the work of local governments and the organs of the People’s Power.
