More Cubans have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19

Havana, Mar 3 (Prensa Latina) The Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP, in Spanish) on Thursday reported that 9,883,693 Cubans, that is, 89.2 percent of the population, have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

According to the Ministry’s website, 10,610,252 citizens have received one dose of homegrown vaccines; 9,375,995 have received the second dose, and 9,054,565 have been administered the third shot.

Cuba has administered 35,016,078 doses of domestic vaccines Soberana 02, Soberana Plus and Abdala.

In addition, 5,974,852 people have received the booster shot, according to the MINSAP report.

Cuban vaccines are safe and do not have serious adverse effects.

This strategy is being implemented in a staggered manner in order to achieve greater protection against new variants of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

According to the National Statistics and Information Office, by the end of 2020, Cuba had a population of about 11,180,000 inhabitants.
