In a call on its website, the organization noted that the problem between the two nations has worsened over the past eight years and has been exacerbated by recent events related to the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics and demilitarization.

“With the certainty that even the most complex situations can be resolved within the framework of respect for the United Nations Charter, we urge the parties to maintain these peacemaking efforts,” the group insisted.

In the statement, the Network also urged third parties, especially the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), to maintain all their actions within a framework of respect for international law and previous agreements.

In this regard, it added that the decision to deploy, for the first time, the Response Force of the military alliance, when delegations of the nations in conflict are engaged in dialogue, is a clear boycott to the search for negotiated solutions and shows its objective of attacking Russia.

The Network warned about the bellicose deployment of the United States in Eurasia and in other parts of the world, and added that with its military industrial complex and war corporations, the US is once again seeking to resort to war and occupations to maintain its declining hegemony at all costs, while an increasingly multipolar world grows stronger.

It also considered that the European Union, together with the United States, has become a belligerent party and contributes directly to exacerbating the conflict, but underestimates how igniting the flame of war in its own zone will bring serious repercussions for its own population.

On the other hand, the Network denounced the censorship and blockades against media and communication entities, such as those affecting the Russian agencies RT and Sputnik, and warned about the role of corporations and transnational communication enterprises turned into vectors of war.

The intellectuals and artists called to defend peace in all its dimensions and to promote political solutions, within the framework of international law and diplomacy, while criticizing that the advance of the extreme right and its positioning in Ukraine and elsewhere, jeopardizes historic quests for dignified human coexistence.
