He said that Moscow is exercising its right to legitimate self-defense in the face of an undeclared war waged for more than 20 years through the expansion of NATO and the siege with military bases, aiming to maintain the hegemony of the United States and the West over the world.

Russia has the full right to defend itself and eliminate the imminent danger to its people in the face of attempts to threaten its national security and attack its stability, the Syrian ambassador claimed.

He denounced that while wars are condemned, the occupation of Arab lands by Israel and the violation of the sovereignty of Syrian territory by the Turkish forces and the United States continue.

Ahmad Mayya explained that his country condemns biased approaches based on political propaganda or their use as an instrument of political pressure and blackmail in order to undermine the legitimate Russian right to protect its territory and people.

The ambassador expressed his country’s confidence in Russia’s ability to confront the fierce war and misinformation campaigns with the same determination with which Syria has defeated terrorist groups backed by the colonial powers of the West.
