According to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, the bloc made it clear that it would avoid entering Ukrainian territory with troops or aircraft in airspace.
The only way to implement a no-fly zone is to send NATO aircrafts and impose it in confrontation with Russian aircrafts, warned the senior official, according to whom such a step would unleash an all-out war in Europe, which would generate more suffering.
Ukrainian authorities repeatedly asked their Western friends to close the airspace, claiming that it would turn the tide of clashes with Russian forces conducting a military operation in the country.
