Activists quoted by the official SANA news agency said that outraged villagers in the town of Abu Hamam, in the eastern part of Deir Ezzor province, blocked roads with burning tires and demanded the complete expulsion of this illegal group trom the area.
The militia sent reinforcements to the village to suppress the protesters who shouted slogans against them and threw stones at their vehicles and troops.
The Kurdish-majority SDF dominates most of Syria’s oil-rich Al-Jazira region and receives arms, money and training from the US occupation forces.
Demonstrations and armed actions against the Syrian Democratic Forces have increased notably in recent weeks in several towns under their domination in northern and northeastern Syria.
Practices such as the compulsory recruitment of young people, servility to the United States, the theft of crude oil and crops, in addition to the eviction of families from their homes due to their proximity to the US bases, have caused indignation among local residents, who have escalated their actions of protest and armed resistance against this group.
