After participating in an official lunch, Arce “has different meetings with the presidents of Argentina, Alberto Fernández; of Peru, Pedro Castillo, and obviously the president-elect Boric”, the consul of the Andean-Amazonian nation in Chile, Fernando López, in an interview broadcasted by the state channel Bolivia TV, said.
Boric expressed last December 31 that during his government he will work to strengthen relations with the neighboring State.
In a message published on Twitter, he highlighted the telephone conversation he had the day before with Arce.
For his part, Arce said that in the dialogue they agreed on the need to deepen a bilateral agenda for the benefit of both peoples and the strengthening of Latin American integration.
Both parties are now moving towards a bilateral agenda, apart from the demand for an outlet to the sea of Bolivia and the dispute over the water rights of the Silala, which is being settled in the International Court of Justice.
Boric ratified the will to move forward in an interview to the British radio station BBC in January, when he commented that the dialogue “gives him a lot of hope” and that he hopes “to work side by side with Lucho Arce in Bolivia”.
In January, the Bolivian head of state reiterated his willingness to promote regional integration when he received the Simón Bolívar Medal, awarded by the Andean Parliament for his contribution to improving the quality of life in his country and to the debate in Latin America on a new model with positive economic and social results.
