Russian Defense Ministry spokesman, Major General Igor Konashenkov, said that his country has detailed information on the Pentagon´s implementation on Ukrainian territory of a project to study the pathogens transfer through wild birds that migrate between Ukraine and Russia and other neighboring countries.

Igor Konashenkov said that the evidence shows that experiments on bat coronavirus samples were carried out in biological laboratories set up and funded in Ukraine.

He pointed out that these and other biological studies´ purpose was to create a mechanism for the covert spread of deadly germs.

Konashenkov stated that a new set of documents received from Ukrainian biological laboratories employees will soon be published by the Russian Defense Ministry and the results of their examination will be presented. Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the information recovered from Ukrainian facilities evidences Russian allegations against the US for violations of the Convention on the Prohibition of Bacteriological and Toxin Weapons.

Last Monday, the head of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Forces of the Russian Armed Forces, Igor Kirilov, stated that a network of more than 30 biological laboratories working for the US Defense Department’s Threat Reduction Agency was operating in Ukraine.

He reported that on February 24, with the start of the Russian military operation, these centers received an order from the Ukrainian Ministry of Health to completely destroy the bioagents, TASS news agency reported.

He noted that the order was to irreparably destroy the collections, as it is presumable that what is necessary to continue the implementation of the military biological program has already been removed from Ukrainian territory.
