In March, eight people have died from the disease, keeping the lethality rate at 0.12 percent. Since the outbreak of the pandemic in Cuba, the total number of deaths is 8,503.
Referring to the cases among the pediatric population, the head of Epidemiology at the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), Dr. Francisco Duran, warned that they have also increased in the last few week, totaling 931 (146 more than in the same previous period).
The highest increase in the transmission of Covid-19 in Cuba is concentrated in autochthonous cases with 3,788 in that period, while 41 were imported cases.
Dr. Duran informed that to date, 2,693 people remain in hospitals or at home, and 2,679 of them show a stable clinical evolution, while six are critical and eight are seriously ill.
In Cuba, the total number of people who have recovered from the disease reached 1,056,150 since 2020, a number that increased on Sunday, when 453 patients were discharged, Dr. Duran said.
