During his participation in the 2nd Antalya Diplomacy Forum, which concluded in that Turkish city on Sunday, the Venezuelan foreign minister emphasized that Venezuela is “recognized, respected and listened to” in international forums.

Plasencia recalled that the Venezuelan State is part of the Group of Friends in Defense of the United Nations Charter, faithful to its position of promoting multilateralism as it is opposed to the “anachronistic unilateralism” that is a failure in the international dynamics.

Referring to the adoption of the so-called sanctions as a method of international pressure, the Venezuelan foreign minister stressed that it is a negative and unacceptable practice, as it violates the basic foundations of the United Nations System.

Plasencia also highlighted the role of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum as a space to boost the defense of multilateralism and debate key aspects related to the realization of peace globally, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As part of his agenda at the event, the head of Venezuelan diplomacy held a series of bilateral meetings with representatives of several countries such as Turkey, Palestine, Cuba, South Africa and the European Union.
