In its morning update, the Health Ministry indicates that the accumulated record has now reached 5,613,870 sick people since the virus was detected in February 2020, of which 321,375 have died.

The epidemic curve maintains the downward trend with minus 40 percent in the period from February 27 to March 5, compared to the previous week, explains the technical report.

It adds that hospital occupancy registered a one-point increase in general beds for 10 percent, while those with ventilator remained unchanged at 7.0 percent.

The 10 states that continue to concentrate 64 percent of the total number of coronavirus cases are Mexico City, State of Mexico, Nuevo Leon, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Tabasco, San Luis Potosi, Veracruz, Puebla and Sonora.

Regarding active cases, the Health Ministry reported that there are currently 17,544, and the number of patients who have recovered from the infection is 4,906,809.
