The number of patients admitted totaled 7,905, 5,311 of whom are suspected cases, 27 are under epidemiological surveillance and 2,567 are confirmed active patients (24 fewer than on the previous day), according to a report released by the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP).

Of the total number of contagions on Wednesday, 566 were contacts of confirmed cases, one with a source of infection abroad and in 19 patients the source of infection could not be determined.

Authorities granted 610 medical discharges for those who suffered from Covid-19 and with this, the recovery of Cubans reached 1,67,982 (99 percent of all confirmed cases).

Cuba has accumulated 1,079,111 Covid-19 patients since two years ago on this day, when the first cases were reported and the death toll as a result of the pandemic remains at 8,503.
