The number of patients admitted totaled 8,363, of whom 5,579 are suspected cases, 25 are under epidemiological surveillance and 2,759 are confirmed active patients (192 more than on the previous day), according to a report released by the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP).

Of the total number of contagions on Thursday, 721 were contacts of confirmed cases, three with a source of infection abroad and in 18 patients the source of infection could not be determined.

Authorities granted 549 medical discharges for those who suffered from Covid-19 and with this, the recovery of Cubans reached 1,68,531 (99 percent of all confirmed cases).

Cuba has accumulated 1,079,853 Covid-19 patients since two years ago on this day, when the first cases were reported and the death toll as a result of the pandemic remains at 8,504.
