Ibrahim Kanaan, who announced the approval of the budget of the Ministry of the Interior and Municipalities with a series of observations, described these issues as a priority for the government.
After a working meeting, the leader added that the government is working to relieve citizens of additional burdens in light of the collapse of the currency and the freezing of their money in the banks.
Quoted by Lebanon Debate website, Kanaan considered that the process of studying the articles of the budget law constitutes the basis and the decisive factor to approve a balanced plan, “not fictitious”.
In this regard, the Finance Committee representative stressed that the budget constitutes a national economic and financial issue, and its approval will not be at the expense of the people.
Lebanon dawned today with a rise in the prices of gasoline, oil and gas, while the unofficial exchange rate of its currency reached between 23,650 and 23,750 Lebanese pounds to the dollar.
