Cuba and United Arab Emirates to boost cooperation

Abu Dhabi, Mar 25 (Prensa Latina) Cuba and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are seeking to boost mutual cooperation and investments, according to several meetings between government representatives from both countries.

The Cuban Embassy described as cordial and productive the meeting held between the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for International Development Affairs, Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, and Cuban Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Deborah Rivas.

During the meeting, they discussed the main projects and aspects of bilateral collaboration, according to a tweet from the Cuban embassy.

Ambassador Roberto Blanco and General Director of Foreign Investment at the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment, Carlos Luis Jorge, also participated on Cuba’s behalf.

The Cuban delegation also met with UAE Deputy Minister of Finance Younis Haji Al Khoor, who expressed the willingness to strengthen economic relations and boost investment, Rivas tweeted.

On Wednesday, the deputy minister was received by the Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Thani bin Ahmed al Zeyoudi, a meeting that resulted in agreements on new joint actions to boost bilateral ties.

Previously, Rivas presented, before executives of the United Arab Emirates Sovereign Wealth Fund, including the Executive Director of Traditional Infrastructure Saed Arar, the portfolio of projects in various sectors to be developed with foreign capital in Cuba.
