More than 800 Covid-19 cases in Cuba for third consecutive day

Havana, Mar 25 (Prensa Latina) The Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) reported 836 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, so for the third consecutive day, Cuba has surpassed 800 contagions with the SARS-CoV-2 virus in 24 hours.

According to the latest report from Minsap, with the figures announced this Friday, Cuba has accumulated 1,085,404 confirmed Covid-19 cases since March 2020.

The provinces with the highest numbers on Friday are Ciego de Avila with 144 cases, Sancti Spíritus (97), Camagüey and Mayabeque, both with 84 cases.

So far, 9,616 patients have been admitted in hospitals or at home, and 5,964 of them are suspected cases, while 25 are under epidemiological surveillance and 3,627 are confirmed active cases.

Among the latter 3,607 have a stable clinical evolution; however, five are critical and 15 are seriousli ill.

No deaths were reported due to complications associated to Covid-19 on Friday, which means that the death toll remains at 8,508 since March 2020.
