Xi Jinping pays tribute to victims of plane crash in China

Beijing, Mar 28 (Prensa Latina) Chinese President Xi Jinping today joined the tributes paid to the 132 people who died a week ago when flight MU5735 crashed in a mountainous area of the country.

The president and other leaders offered a moment of silence to the victims before the start of a meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Acts like that began to be developed yesterday in the Asian nation, the main one at the site where the plane crashed and all the personnel involved in the search and collection of remains dedicated three minutes of silence to the dead in the Zhuang autonomous region of Guangxi (south).

Relatives of the deceased also held memorials in funeral homes and different parts of the country, accompanied by local leaders.

This Monday was announced that scientists completed DNA research on the 123 passengers and nine crew members of MU5735, which was operated by China Eastern Airlines.

Rescuers are still searching for more personal belongings and debris from the plane, while investigators work on decoding the two black boxes.

Flight MU 5735 crashed last 21st in a mountains area of Zhang of Guangxi while traveling from Kunming to Guangzhou.

So far it was ascertained that at the time of the crash the weather conditions were normal, the nine crew members were in good health, the aircraft complied with safety requirements before takeoff and maintained communication with control towers from takeoff until the sudden crash.
